Welcome to the Makara Morris Website

Welcome to the Makara Morris website for our post lockdown reformed team.

We are a Border Morris side or team based in Wansford, near Driffield in the East Riding of Yorkshire and we operate in East Yorkshire and beyond.
We perform at fetes, village shows, local and regional Morris gatherings, wassails and sometimes in open spaces just for the joy of it!
We have also made visits to U3A groups, Women’s Institutes and various fellowship groups where we are happy to give talks and presentations and even teach a dance.

If you fancy doing something traditional and unusual as a dancer or musician, we are always looking for new recruits.
In the winter, we will be learning dances and practicing in Wansford Village Hall each Monday night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. In the summer we are usually outside in the fresh air. Please check before you travel.

We also have group of members who perform as the Makara Morris Merry Minstrels providing medieval music!

We are members of the Morris Federation, one of the three umbrella groups for Morris Dancing, and benefit from their Public Liability Insurance.
